PROGRAM PROFILE

TP Kiddie Academy is located on the 20 acres of Turning Point Family Worship Center Campus at 4501 N. Post Road, Indianapolis, IN 46226. We are conveniently located with easy access to Highway 465 and Interstate Highway 70. We are open Monday-Friday 6:30 a.m. -6:00 p.m. As a Paths to Quality level 3 facility and On My Way Provider we serve children ages 3-5 (fully potty trained) for preschool, Pre-Kindergarten, and childcare. TPKA also offers out of school childcare for children ages 6-13. Our mission is to build a solid foundation for our children to achieve academic, social, and emotional success. We are serious about educating and providing quality childcare for our students in a Christian environment. TPKA implements a perfect blend of the ABEKA curriculum and developmentally appropriate activities/fieldtrips which allows children to have fun while learning. Discipline of a child is the joint responsibility of the parents, teachers, and the administration here at TPKA. 

DIRECTOR PROFILE

Katrina Jones, Director of TP Kiddie Academy, began her employment with the ministry in 2007 assisting in the 2 ½ year old classes.  She continued being promoted working with all preschool age groups until 2014 when she was named Director. Katrina received her Child Development Associate Credential in 2012 is currently working towards her Associate of Applied Science in Early Childhood Education with a specialty in Administration from Ivy Tech Community College. Along with serving as the Director of TPKA she is also a member of TP Family Worship Center. This makes her job more than just a job it is truly ministry. Married since 2003, Katrina and her husband are the proud parents of three children one of whom is a student at TP Elementary and he participates in TPKA out of school childcare

ADMISSION PROCESS

TP Schools is a ministry of Turning Point Family Worship Center.  We are an independent, fundamental, and bible believing church.  We believe in the bible teachings regarding salvation and separation from a life of Sin.  As a church ministry, we set standards that are in line with the teachings of this church.  Each division of TP Schools has specific criteria for admissions.  Those parents interested in enrolling students in TP Kiddie Academy or TP Elementary should meet all criteria for acceptance.

  • Application must be completed and all required records/documents are submitted for review and registration fee is paid.

  • All candidates for enrollment must submit letters of recommendation from three of the following: current teacher, principal, pastor, mentor, or other as requested.

  • All new students and parents must complete an interview prior to being enrolled

  • Parent/Student Agreement Clause must be signed & returned acknowledging full cooperation with the rules and regulations of TPS.

  • Formal Letter of Acceptance will be given by TPS if your application is approved.

 

FINANCIAL COMMITMENT & POLICIES:

The School year tuition at TP Schools is as follows: (August-May). CCDF is accepted. Call us for more information.

 

  • Preschooler: $5160.00 or 120 a week (per student)

  • Preschool Summer Camp: 130 a week (per student) (June-July)

 

Books:

  • Preschool: 3 y/o $75.00

  • Pre- Kindergarten: 4 - 4 ½ y/o $90.00

 

An interview is required for all new students upon enrollment. Interviews will be with both student and parent(s). This is mandatory for new enrollees. Preschoolers must be fully potty trained, not using pull-ups at any time upon admittance.

PRESCHOOL STUDENTS

Staff Profile:

TP Kiddie Academy consist of early childhood professionals who enjoy working with children and have either earned Child Development Associate Credentials or are current working towards receiving this credentials by 2016. All TPKA staff participates in minimum 25 hours ongoing professional development in Early Childhood Education or School-age annually. We maintain the state ratios and small classroom enrollment; teachers are able to provide a environment where children can develop academically, socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. All staff must undergo an extensive staff orientation process which includes drug testing, criminal history, abuse and neglect background checks, child/pediatric CPR and First Aid, and Universal Precaution training; to name a few. Kitchen personnel received food handlers training from ServSafe, a nationally recognized training and certification opportunity designed specifically for food preparation.

 

 

Out of school Childcare:

TP Kiddie Academy offers before/aftercare and Out of School Childcare for children 6-12 years old. Children are offered Breakfast, Lunch and snacks at no added cost. Before care is from 6:30am– 7:45am and consist mainly of free play, activities and breakfast.After care is from 4pm-6pm children will receive a healthy afternoon snack and  may participate in several fun and age appropriate clubs like Sports of all sorts, MAD Scientists, Music Theory, Praise Dance, and much more. Some clubs will have an additional cost. Aftercare children will engage in age appropriate games and activities that choose to not participate in a clubs. TPKA  offers affordable camps during out of school breaks from 6:30am-6pm. This includes fall, winter, spring, and summer. Children between the ages of 3 years old (fully potty trained) though 12 years old may attend Camp. Our staff will focus on character development, Christian morals, and values; all while having an exciting line-up of age appropriate learning activities, arts and crafts, indoor and outdoor games, field trips, and much more. Children will participate in daily chapel.

FIELD TRIPS / EXTRACURRICULAR

FIELD TRIPS

FIELD TRIPSTPKA field trips are an important part of our student’s continual learning experience. Parents are encouraged to participate as chaperones and are requested to follow the dress code guideline of TP Schools Staff Children who are participating in School /Camp field trips must (1) wear the uniform described in dress code section(2) leave with the school and return with the school – unless parent is accompanying the student and gives a prior written notice of plan to depart from the location and (3) student must be on time. Parents cannot drop students off at the location. We reserve the right to ask that children that have challenges with behavior stay at the school. This behavior may cause the student or others to be placed in unsafe situations on the fieldtrip.

TPKA REQUIREMENTS

POTTY TRAINED:

Students that have more than three accidents per week while napping or just refusing to tell the staff they have to go to the restroom, will be suspended until they are fully potty trained.  We reserve the right to fill the space immediately. Our staff is not to wipe children at any time, but they may assist the child in cleaning themselves up and changing clothes.  Parents whose child has an accident and no change of clothes will be called immediately.

 

PURCHASING UNIFORMS

We are a uniform dress school. Students are to wear uniforms daily. The dress code is specific and must be purchased at School Zone, located at 5425 N. Keystone Avenue.  (Please note the additional Dress Code requirements listed)

 

 

PRESCHOOL APPROVED UNIFORMS

Every student must dress according to the uniform dress code.  Preschoolers 3-5 years old may dress accordingly:

· ALL hairstyles must be moderate

· No designs, braids, or twists in boy’s heads; no shaving off of girls’ hair.

· No Mohawks or other carvings in hair designs.

· No earrings in dangling for girls and boys may not wear earrings.

· Bottoms Color: Navy Blue, Khaki

· Bottoms Items: Pants, Kick pleat Scooter shirts. All jumpers, skirts, and shorts should be below the knees.

· Tops: All tops should have the TP Logo

· Polo shirt, Peter Pan Blouse, Long or short sleeve worn under jumpers,

· Long sleeve under shirt: Navy Blue or White

· Color Tops: Navy Blue, White, or Gold

· Tights/socks: Navy Blue, Brown, or White

· Shoes: Tennis or Comfortable shoes must be black only  (no boots)

· Sweater: Navy Blue, White, Black Only

 

Please remember we are a Christian school with modest dress codes.

 

 

DRESS CODE FOR SPECIAL OCCASIONS:

Programs:  All Preschoolers must wear WHITE Peter Pan Tops w/Cross Tie (Girls)/Button Shirt w/tie

Field Trip Uniform:  Gold w/logo Polo Shirt (long or short sleeve); Navy/Khaki/Jean bottoms, socks, and Tennis shoes

 

FIELD TRIP DRESS CODE:

All preschool students are required to wear Gold TP logo tops and Teacher’s choice bottoms on school fieldtrips.
